LAP OUTLOUD
I have been to the University swimming pool 200% more times than I went to the pool when I was training for my mini-triathlon. This means three.
Week One- Ben spent 45 minutes coaching me on my stroke, helping me improve my breathing technique, demonstrating how I need to keep a lower profile in the water (I lift my shoulders out of the water too high) and just how I could be more efficient.
Week Two-Session I- I tested myself to see if I can swim the 750 metres in the required time and indeed I can! In fact less than required, I took a mini-pause. We had our own pool lane, getting to the pool at 6.30 has some clear advantages. Sleep is overrated.
Week Two-Session II- 1000 metres, Ben said I got a bit sloppy in the middle. Uh-oh.
There is a woman who does her pool lengths in a monokini- last week was black, this week it was white. Are you familiar with the monokini? Here to help is a Ben Pawson original rendition:

Yes, a top and bottom, like a bikini joined with just a little extra swimsuit. My guess- she is French- they love to swim laps in non-sporty swimwear.
We will be back in the pool this week. To prevent sloppy-Buffy, I will be back on the kick board, working on my concentration, breathing and checking out some online videos for hints and tips. If you have any, send them my way.
